About the Position

The University of Graz invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher position in the Department of Digital Humanities, commencing in February 2026. Eligibility & Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD in Digital Humanities or related Humanities discipline with certified digital methodology skills
  • Proficiency in German and English (C1/B2 levels minimum)
  • Strong technical and methodological expertise in Digital Humanities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with NLP and historical text corpora
  • Proven record of publications and project participation
  • Experience with third-party funded project applications
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration and teaching experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct autonomous research and publish in the field of Digital Humanities
  • Develop and contribute to national and international research projects
  • Supervise and mentor students
  • Teach and evaluate courses in the Master’s programme in Digital Humanities
  • Participate in academic associations and infrastructure projects (e.g. TEI, DHd, DARIAH-EU, CLARIN-ERIC)
  • Apply for third-party funding and contribute to departmental administration
