About the Program
The University of Exeter invites applications for an Associate Lecturer in Archaeology (Education and Scholarship) within the Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS). This full-time, fixed-term position runs until 30th April 2026 and involves teaching and supporting students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The role focuses on human osteoarchaeology, forensic anthropology, and zooarchaeology, combined with practical archaeological fieldwork methods including survey and excavation. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD (or near completion) in relevant discipline
- Experience teaching or researching in human osteoarchaeology, forensic anthropology, or zooarchaeology
- Knowledge of practical fieldwork methods in archaeology
- Experience grading student work and providing feedback
- Willingness to work collaboratively and meet academic deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- HEA Associate Fellow status (or willingness to achieve within two years)
- Strong record of research or teaching
- Experience with team-taught and solo-taught modules
