About the Fellowship
The Henry A. Kissinger Visiting Scholar Postdoctoral Fellowship (2026–27) at Yale University’s Jackson School of Global Affairs offers an exceptional opportunity for emerging and established scholars to engage in advanced research on American diplomacy, foreign relations, and grand strategy. Hosted by the Johnson Center for the Study of American Diplomacy, this fellowship provides access to the Henry A. Kissinger Papers and other exclusive Yale archival holdings. Scholars will join a vibrant intellectual community, participating in events, seminars, and collaborations that deepen understanding of the United States’ role in international affairs from World War II to the present. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in History, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field
- Research focus on the United States’ role in global affairs (from WWII to the present)
- Ability to conduct archival or empirical research using Yale’s collections
Preferred Qualifications:
- Publication record in relevant fields
- Teaching or research experience in diplomatic or strategic studies
- Experience in interdisciplinary or archival research
Not Eligible:
- Applicants without a clear archival or empirical research plan
- Candidates unable to reside in New Haven for the fellowship period

Key Responsibilities
