About the Position
The University of Cambridge invites applications for the Material Culture Hub Coordinator (Centre Coordinator) role at the McDonald Institute for Archaeological Research. This part-time, fixed-term (2 years) position supports the Material Culture Hub, an interdisciplinary centre fostering research, training, and collaboration in archaeology and material culture studies. Working closely with the Hub’s Co-Directors, the Coordinator will manage daily operations, organise seminars, workshops, and public lectures, and enhance engagement across the University’s research network. Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Proven administrative experience within an academic or research environment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and web management platforms
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience coordinating academic events, seminars, and workshops
- Ability to produce visual materials such as flyers, posters, and slides
- Familiarity with digital media, social platforms, and online communication tools
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations and administrative processes of the Material Culture Hub
- Coordinate seminars, lectures, workshops, and reading groups
- Support academic staff, researchers, and students in project-related activities
- Maintain communication with interdepartmental and external networks
- Oversee website updates and event publicity to enhance visibility
- Foster an inclusive and collaborative research environment
