Postdoctoral Research Position in Environmental and Climate Modelling at CNRS, France – Apply by 9 December 2025

About Position/Job

CNRS – Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l’Environnement (LSCE), France is offering a Postdoctoral Research Position in Environmental and Climate Modelling focused on advancing Earth system and land surface modelling. This role is part of the ERC-funded CATES project and involves the assimilation of tree-ring data into the ORCHIDEE global land surface model to enhance simulations of carbon sequestration, water use efficiency, and biomass growth. Based in St Aubin, near Paris, the research has a strong global modelling focus, combining historical environmental datasets with climate simulations. The project supports LSCE’s mission to strengthen climate change research through innovative, interdisciplinary methodologies and large-scale modelling. The position is for 20 months, starting in January 2026, and offers a highly collaborative international research environment.
