About Position / Job
CNRS – National Centre for Scientific Research (France) is seeking applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Researcher position in Archaeozoology and Biogeochemistry within the Bioarchéologie Interactions Sociétés Environnements unit, based in Paris, France. This postdoctoral project investigates pastoral practices during the Median period (9th–6th century BCE) in the north-western Iranian Plateau, using stable isotope analyses (δ¹³C, δ¹⁸O, and Sr isotopes) of herbivorous dental and bone remains. The research integrates archaeozoology, environmental science, anthropology, and biogeochemistry, with laboratory work conducted at the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle (MNHN). The position offers advanced postdoctoral training, hands-on isotopic analysis, 3D documentation, and database development, culminating in the preparation of a peer-reviewed international journal publication.
