Postdoctoral Position in Socio-Environmental Data Integration at Wageningen University & Research, Netherlands – Apply by 19 January 2026

About Position/Job

Wageningen University & Research (WUR), Netherlands, is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Socio-Environmental Data Integration within the Geo-information Science team at the Laboratory of Geo-information Science and Remote Sensing. This postdoctoral position focuses on developing an innovative Socio-Environmental Spatial Data Infrastructure (SE-SDI) to support research on complex land systems.

The project addresses critical challenges at the intersection of human behaviour, environmental processes, and socio-economic drivers, integrating qualitative and quantitative data across spatial and temporal scales. The researcher will work under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Sytze de Bruin and collaborate with interdisciplinary experts in human geography, environmental science, geospatial analysis, and participatory research. The role combines methodological development, policy-aware data governance, real-world case studies, and close collaboration within a highly international research environment.
