The University of Évora is inviting applications for a Research Scholarship for Graduate Students in History and Archaeology. Funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), the position is part of the MeatIne project hosted by CIDEHUS. This history research scholarship focuses on meat production, distribution, consumption, and social inequalities in Évora between the fourteenth and seventeenth centuries.
The successful candidate will join a historical research project within the fields of History and Archaeology, contributing to archival research, data collection, and research dissemination activities. The role involves working with primary historical sources while supporting publications, scientific events, and broader research communication initiatives associated with the project.
Research activities include consulting archival collections, organising historical information, and maintaining project datasets. The scholarship holder will also prepare regular progress reports and assist with the development of interim and final project documentation under academic supervision.
The MeatIne project examines historical evidence relating to food production, consumption patterns, and social inequalities in medieval and early modern Évora.
