About the Position/Job
Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) invites applications for the position of Research Associate in the Indo-French collaborative research project “[ADEPT] AI-assisted Energy Portfolio Optimization Toolkit for Renewable Energy-rich Grid Management.” This position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of AI-based forecasting models and optimization tools aimed at enhancing grid balancing and power procurement decisions in day-ahead and real-time market operations. The toolkit will be deployed and tested offline at SLDC Gujarat to ensure optimal model performance.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in Electrical Engineering with relevant research knowledge/skills
- Minimum 60% or equivalent grade in Graduation and above, and 55% or equivalent grade in 10th and 12th
- Strong academic and research track record
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of power systems, grid integration, and forecasting
- Experience with GAMS, Python programming, SQL databases, and WebAPI
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement AI-based forecasting models for grid management
- Work on optimization-based energy scheduling tools for grid balancing and power procurement
- Collaborate with both academic and industry partners from India and France
- Test and deploy developed toolkits offline at SLDC Gujarat
- Contribute to research papers and project reports
