About the Program

The Collaborative Research Center 1718 “Common Ground: Cognition – Grammar – Communication”, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), invites applications for a PhD Researcher in Linguistics. The position is embedded in Project B5, which investigates the crosslinguistic morphosyntactic and prosodic properties of reprise questions and fragments, with a focus on their pragmatic functions.

The PhD researcher will conduct prosodic production and perception experiments across a small selection of European languages (e.g., English, German, Italian, Hungarian), contributing to experimental and theoretical work in syntax, prosody, and pragmatics. Hosted at the University of Tübingen, the position offers a 75% salaried role (TV-L E13) in a vibrant, interdisciplinary research environment.
