About Position/Job
The CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Mind2Wall ANR project, focused on the archaeology of language. The successful candidate will carry out ethnoarchaeological research on hand representations in parietal art across different cultures worldwide, contributing to our understanding of symbolic human expression. Based at the IKER laboratory in Bayonne, France, the role involves database development, fieldwork, documentation, and data analysis, as well as scientific outreach and conference participation. The project encourages interdisciplinary collaboration with researchers across France and Spain. This is a full-time, temporary position, starting 17 Nov 2025, with a 35-hour workweek. The post offers a unique opportunity to combine archaeological research, ethnography, and international collaboration in a dynamic academic environment.

Eligibility & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- PhD in History, Anthropology, or Environmental Science

- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Willingness to conduct international fieldwork
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a database of hand stencils from archaeological sites
- Conduct ethnoarchaeological studies on hand motifs in parietal art
